Therefore, there is a great demand for lightweight products in the automotive industry. Every acceleration and deceleration consumes energy, varying depending on the weight we are carrying. Lightweight constructions reduce the weight of mobility systems and thus the energy consumption. Less energy automatically means less CO2 emissions.

Various materials, such as aluminium/magnesium alloys, steel, and plastic composites, offer opportunities for lightweight construction, but with the emergence and introduction of a circular industry, new challenges are arising.
